Yep, carb was missing yet another part which we figured out when I went to change the jet and the whole damn tube with jet pushed up inside the carb. One little washer, that's all I needed. Put it all back together, started her up and did a wheelie in the driveway with my new found power. Battery from Wally World is getting her around for now, but Auburn Power Sports is taking care of us on the warranty.
I figure there must be a better way in there than what we took. Thankfully it was only a mile of treachery, and not nearly as bad coming out because we knew what to expect. Scary prospect when you're headed in with that much in tow and have no idea of what lies around the corner. At the half mile point, we stopped, off loaded a quad and I took off to scout. I found that camp and the death shelf further up and decided we could just plop it down in the first camp site. It worked out very well, we were all by ourselves, and no one messed with us. It's a fairly busy road though, to my surprise. Popular with the campers at PE Park.
I would probably do it again, because I know what to expect now. Although, you are miles from the La Porte trails and I almost ran out of gas on the way back. I want to find a place on the other side to set up and ride that half. Oh, and a fuel pack is in order apparently.

And I completely understand.MrBill wrote:See why I have that 10 gallons hanging on the back
It was a bit unnerving seeing my fuel gauge (rub rub) flashing "FUEL" at me every 2 seconds. I never kicked it over to reserve, but I was ready at any moment.
I'll be ordering a Kolpin pack very soon.

Yep, 102". Technically two Sportsman's should fit side by side in the back, those are two Hawkeyes and they had room on the sides. My 700 is in front of them and went almost all the way to the kitchen cabinet, maybe 8" shy. I have the Warn front bumper though, which adds like 10" to the length of the quad.
