Re: wheel winch
Cool - but not in production...
It seems like an awesome concept - someone needs to produce something along that line.

Re: wheel winch
That is pretty flippin' awesome and I love that you can winch backwards as well as forward. Here is their web site, they say they have some prototypes for sale:

Re: wheel winch
i just dont think its practical.. maybe if its 80% cheaper then a winch. What happens when you buried the tires in mud, or you slide side ways on some rocks so your rim is against them. The idea has been around for trucks / jeeps for awhile but there sorta potable units that you only break out of the trunk when needed.

of course you never need to worry about electrical problems, winch, etc with them and you can winch backwards as easy as forwards. Some one mentioned on the forum i saw this video at "i'm sure its not good for your rear axle etc.." but in a recovery rescue i wouldnt mind..

Re: wheel winch
I agree on practicality. You could never just rely on that, so you'd need to either keep your riding to ditch crossing like the video or have a winch too. If the latter, then why bother.
It needs a new catchy name. You gotta give Hillbilly's credit for ingenuity. So I'd dub it HILLBILLY WINCH.
