Tire size?
My stock tires on my King Quad are 25*8*12 front and 25*10*12 rear. Since I have been thinking of new tires anyway and since I will be doing a lot of mudding in my move to Florida I am gonna get some mudding tires. The question is this, do you think if I went with something like a 26*10*12 front and 26*12*12 rear, would I lose a lot of performance or have rubbing issues.
Any thoughts?
Thanks, Dave

I had 26x12x12 on the rear of my BF 750i and steering was an adventure in upper-body strength and patience.regor wrote:Oh yeah, like i said going back to my summer tires, stock size. It felt like i had gained 50 ccs. Like a new bike. Alot easier handling with the stock tires. When you put it in 4wheel drive with the 26s, you have a job on your hands.
Lost quite a bit of power too.
Last week, I took the big tires off and went back to near-stock size and original rims and gained a ton of power and steering capability (but lost traction and grip).

I had 26-12-12 Bighorns on the rear of my King Quad for 3000 miles and they rubbed. Bighorns are taller than most other tires so you may not have the problem with other tires

The rubbing problem with the 26" Bighorns is the 12" wide rear. The Swamp lite has an 10" or 12" rear and it's not as tall as a Bighorn, I doubt it will rub, especially the 10". You plan on doing this before leaving town?FishaHallic wrote:Hmmm, sounds like I might just go with Swamp lite tires but go with the stock size

It's just tires, not like you're buying a snowmobile. This is something you can actually use at the new place, right?FishaHallic wrote:I say yes, the wife says no, so what do you think .
What's the best price you found and do you want them mounted?

Well I found them on Ebay for $299 w/free shipping and I heard you can get them mounted at Walmart for $5 each (but I have not confirmed this yet). These prices are for the full set of stock size which would be 2-25*8*12 and 2-25-10-12

Shipped to your door $295 or you can meet me in Truckee for $270.
I'll be going through there on the 7th heading to Sierraville, so we can meet anywhere near 89/80 intersection. If you want them mounted add $40 and pull them off your quad, I have a machine that is in my trailer, takes about an hour to do 4 tires.
