Almost complete rebuild.
So I started to work on my atv because I saw one frame crack. Next I found the mount for the sway bar was broken. After that I found many more cracks. Probably 5-10 cracks in all. Im welding all the cracks up and some of them after I weld them I will grind them smooth and renforce them with steel to prevent more breakage.
Cleaning the frame from all the dirt.
Had to renforce the upper mounts with 1" steel box tube because the from was breaking.
Had to do lots of short tack welds to keep from blowing a hole in the wimpy frame
One of the many cracks that I have to fix.
Another Crack
Here is crack 3 & 4
Cleaning the frame for welding for cracks 5 & 6
Renforcing the frame for cracks 7 & 8
And more cracks. Will be welding those up and welding washers to the frame where the A arms attach where bolt holes area worn out.
Starting to weld the cracks.
More tack welds so I don't blow a hole in the frame
Some renforcing where the frame was almost broken all the way through.
Took the rear drive line out so that I could put new u joints while I had it all apart.

Once you break or crack one piece...it's dominos falling....as everything starts to move.

im going to assume since my quads not that old its fine ignorance is bliss of course that will change fast when it snaps out riding.
p.s. congrats on the marriage as well, did you guys go any where for a honey moon?

I'd definitely check it out Brian....once one spot cracks and starts moving, it's a like domino effect....so the sooner you catch it...the less you have to do.

Re: Almost complete rebuild.
Thanks, Its seems to be holding together still. Doing the tack welds on the worn out frame is like trying to weld tin foil. I just did a million tacks. Its not pretty like your work but its good enough.
