need different oil
this will be the last time i spend 24 bucks on 2 quarts of polaris oil for the atv, and they wanted another 12 bucks for the filter. lucky a filter for the yamaha roadstar is the same, wallyworld has those cheaper.

I run amsoil and Wix filter.

If you can find it, they have an additive called MT-10. It used to be called Muscle. I use it everything from engines to transmissions...everthing you can use lube in. I bought a case a while ago(like 10 years) and don't know if you can still get it. Most railroad corporations use it in their diesel engines.
Its so good, I would even run Quaker State oil with it!

what's IMPORTANT is that the oil is pure synthetic and 0-40. The 0 being very important, so that the oil can quickly move through the small passages.

From a cost standpoint, the Amsoil and Wix filter costs about the same.
Others are making synthetic oil nowadays, so its a matter of choice.
Either way, its still gonna cost more than conventional oil.
I don't want to be out 60 miles from the truck thinking about my oil...
