Triton Trailer or Echo Trailer?

Triton Trailer or Echo Trailer?
I always heard that you want to have the bigger tires on a trailer because the smaller tires would give you more problems with the bearings and what not.
I know ATVer and GG have these trailers so how do you like it. GG have you ever had any issues with your trailer wheels and bearings and have you taken it on a long haul?
I am thinking of getting one when I get my tax refund and the trailer looked pretty nice. I looked at a reguler steel trailers that were side loaders and the thing weighed in at 1390lbs . I am not sure on the Triton but I am thinking 400-500lbs .
What do you think??

this is a good option as well
sold at most tractor supply stores and is only about 1600 bucks
i tow it with my wifes jeep all the time and have no problems
with it just an option if you don't want to shell out cash for trighton
and it hauls 3 full size quads i have actuly put the jeep on it and towed with with my jeep just to see how it would fair it was pretty good but was a bit of a load for single axle trailer

No issues with the wheels or bearings Dave, and I've taken it to Utah and back 3 times. I did have an issue with one of the tires wearing badly along the edge, maybe the tire wasn't mounted right? Because the wheels are small and the tires look "street-ish", I don't take it too far off the pavement. Not saying it wouldn't handle rough stuff, don't know, I just prefer to ride when I get to dirt anyway.

yea my cuz has a trailer like that he likes it alot and is light
as far as i know he has had no problems with it and it sits out side all the time
they are nice i like the no rails for loading easy

Saw one of the echo style trailers when going through yearington. (had to go there to get replacement lights "again").
Looks like a nice trailer - ramps are on the ends and when side loaded they are cradled in there. looked to be very secure.

Griz, they sell both of those echo types at the trailer place on S. Virginia heading toward Carson City, but I found a place in downtown Reno that may have them cheaper but he will have to order it and it will take 2 weeks.
Anyway, I think I am leaning more toward the Echo over the Triton. The Echo comes with bigger tires 14" where the Triton comes with 10" with an upgrade to 12". I know that ATV'er and Griz have not had any problems with the smaller tires but I just am leary of these. Also, the Echo has more tie downs which I like. The main factor is money though, it looks like the 3 place Echo is going to be about $400 cheaper then the 3 place Trition and when you add in the bigger tires and better tie down areas it looks like a better deal to me even though it will weigh in about 330 lbs heavier then the Triton.
Hopefully I will be ordering this trailer in the next week or so. I will keep you posted.

For what it's worth, I have a 2004 (maybe a 2005) Echo 10x7 side loader. The trailer has worked out awesome for me. It came w/ a couple of quads I bought a few years ago.
Anyhow, here is my breakdown/thoughts.
The Good
-Very easy to load.
-Pulls like a dream.
-Very durable.
-Wheels under the trailer, giving it better clearance and extra deck width.
-I am able to wrangle 3 ATV's on this trailer.
The Mediocre
-The gear box on it isn't very big.
-The gear box isn't water/dust proof.
-Could use more tie-downs.
-Didn't come w/ a spare tire.
-Came with 13" bias ply tires.
The Bad
-Hard to find info on the trailer if you're not the original owner (It took me 3 phone calls to Utah just to find out what size the axle was, and what size bearing buddies it uses)
-Metal deck is SLIPPERY when it gets wet (rain, snow, washing the trailer, etc)
I haven't had any experience with other trailers, but I'd imagine that each has their pros/cons. Overall I am VERY happy with this unit, and everytime I see others on craigslist, I compare them to this one - I still wouldn't trade it for any others this size.
And I have actually fixed one of the 'issues' listed above - for about $100, I 'Herculined' it - I was rather impressed with how it came out actually. I didn't have high expectations, but I tell ya that it's worth a days work and the hundy it cost me* to get it lined.

Ok the echo snowmobile trailer that I just bought looks good and seems sturdy but the pins for the ramps suck. Echo trailers totally went cheap on the pins. They aren't even pins they are grade 8 bolts that are two sizes too small with nylock nuts. Talk about shaking your trailer to pieces. Finally after trying every size bolt to fit the pin holes I took it to a well known machine shop and the machinist looked at it with amazement. Finally after sizing the hole he said that nothing would fit that hole and that he could lathe me a pin to the correct measurement.
After contacting echo trailers and the dealer I bought it from I received no help or acknowledgment of the issue. I would not recommend echo trailers for this main purpose. Oh and after the dealer said he had never heard of this being an issue he mentioned that some people had said they had put a piece of plastic tubing to act as a bushing for the hole so the pins and ramps wouldn't shake so bad. Obviously he had heard about this being an issue.
Get your cramp together Echo.
