Let's see, you have to go to elko, mile 301 on interstate 80. Then it's about 70 miles to wild horse reservoir.

102 miles - one day.
Actually, the pics are over the three days. We rode about 20 miles on days 1 & 2 and the 102 was on day 3.
I could probably spend at least a month up there just investigating all the roads and possibilities. Practically, a week would have been great. Next time we will know and plan accordingly.
Took us 8 hours and a bit including 3 fuel/potty stops (dogs ya know).
I think I clocked about 460 miles or so one way. Must stop at Boomtown, Winnemucca and Elko to fuel up. I fawked up and didn't do the Elko stop on the way in and had to make a side trip on day 2 to fuel up in Owyhee, about 3 miles from Idaho. (closest gas or diesel)
I highly recommend to anyone looking for a ride out of camp and explore area. Bring your GPS though, a lot of it looks quite the same once you get out there.
Watch out for the mormon crickets too.
Them suckers get BIG!!

Ken, you did a great job capturing the sights we saw. It is a beautiful and fun place to ride. We rode 59 miles the day you and Wendy left. Rode Merritt Mountain trail system, absolutely beautiful sights on this trail. A person could ride for weeks there taking all the main and side trails. This was our 2nd trip to WH and have to say I enjoyed it more this year.
Happy Trails,
Carrie/Lander

Seeing as how I was an invitee, I did not think it appropriate to invite others.
We saw some prospect diggings, but no mines per se'. Nothing like Tonopah or Mina that's for sure.
Fuel - yeah, let's not broach that subject at all.

Carrie we rode Merritt Mountain today and met Gage. Beautiful country and wildflowers were out like carpet on the mountain.
