Looks like you guys had a good day, HellCat! Well, I'm going to try to get out the Grizzlies this week. Come heck or high water (er, snow). Maybe scout around here just a bit on the wife's (her mileage needs to catch up with mine) and see how bad the snow situation really is.

How high up did you guys make it?

Cool! That's just about the same elevation as where Dog Valley Road hits Henness Pass road. East could connect to west soon. :)

How's the Hunter Lake trail looking from your side? The lake is at about 8200', but then again, you guys are on the dry side of the mountains.

Hey John, welcome aboard. I couldn't help but notice your fine looking scabbard. You'd be a great guy to have along on rides through this area (west of Peavine), I don't think I can keep them all pinned down with just my little M1 carbine:

hey thanks for the welcome.

yes im very motivated as far as my guns and hunting go. this rig has alot of time on it in the hills (with a gun in the scabbard) mostly in nevada because the cal. laws really suck as far as access and gun laws. so i guess you and your m1 can count me in! lol

after this ride this last weekend i m at 1300 miles on my eiger and its an 07, ive had it 1 1/2 yrs. lets ride!

You got that right, John. We've been fantasizing of escaping to NV to escape our nutty CA laws for quite a while. 30 miles from here is a whole nuther world.

My carbine would actually be worthless since I have to carry it unloaded, unconcealed, and with no ammo even touching the weapon. My wife's concealed carry permit from PA isn't even respected here, and she's an NRA certified handgun instructor.

Hey, maybe when I ride across the border I can at least load up the carbine and be ready to lay down some covering fire while you pick off the bad guys with your real rifle.
