They seem like good machines....I am not sure of the visco lock...the machines with the lockers or the setup on the polaris seem to work better in extrem conditions. Chadd should have some info on this subject.

I'd agree on the visco lock....it takes a long time to spool up. Not optimal on rocks.

I would think so....my King does wheelies with just a pipe, chip and air intake. I cant imagine what this thing can doWillRide wrote:So Chadd, how do you like the performance? Is it a lot quicker than the big Outlander? Any chance it can do wheelies?

The real major differance between the Renagade and the Outty is the Suspension. The Motors are the same power wise. You can ride wheelies all day long on either quad. I would stick with the outty since it has racks.

No problem here Loppy, go for it. I like the utility aspect of the Outlander, but I will have to say the Renegade X is about the baddest ass looking ATV I have ever seen. Not to take away from the Outty, becaue it is pretty sweet to.

Outlander 650 XT
I have no problemo at all...........I owned a 2003 400 Outlander the first year they came out. That was a very impressive entry level quad. I replaced that quad with the 650 last June and LOVE IT! The performance and ride is so nice. I definitely enjoy the extra umph the 650 has! Loren had a 650 Prairie and enjoys the suspension and performance the Outlander has. Enjoy!

Thanks Chad. I appreciate the outreach for the hookup. Turns out I was in a new Can Am dealer here in Rancho and found one I wanted and they made me a deal I could not refuse. And I was going riding in two days. So I took the leap. I ended up with the 650, but I'm hoping this will become my wifes ride soon and I'll be looking for the 800. You will definately get my business!!
Like I said, I got a rock bottom deal on a 650 they were getting rid of and had to jump on it. They had no 800's in stock, so I just took the plunge after looking at the numbers. Only the 800 has more HP than ANY other quad out there. So...
It's SICK. I absolutely love it. If the 650 can do what it does, I'm actually SCARED of the 800. The suspension is plush, and the motor, oh my gawd. It went straight up a snow hill that I thought for sure I'd get stuck on. Nope. Just had more and more to give. The power, ride and even the sound of the v twin are flat out sick. So far, I cant say enough about it.
Just be careful when backing up on a hillside. It's so torqey, you can end up ass over end before you know it. Dont ask me how I know.

You made a good choice. I ride an Outy 500 right now. Several of the people i ride with have Outy 800. They are nice machines. The only problem with the 800 is they have to much snap when trying to ride a very technical piece of trail. They all have said they need to have the clutch packs changed, because the grab to quick.
